Yes To Shampoo &; Conditioner | Use & Review

Hello Passionista!!!

So, I’m not the type to use the same shampoo and conditioner every time I wash my hair. I like to try different products and brands. So I want to share my experience with Yes To shampoo and conditioner detoxifying & deep cleaning / ultra moisturizing charcoal.

Disclaimer: My thoughts and opinions are strictly my own based from my usage experience. I have only used these products one time.

Where to buy: Target ($7.99 each)

Yes To charcoal detoxifying & deep cleaning shampoo

Yes To charcoal detoxifying & ultra- moisturizing conditioner

Pros:

  • This is really a deep cleaning shampoo, it’s great for clean hair with product build up
  • The formula is creamy. For some reason I thought the formula would be thicker than the average shampoo but it’s not.

Cons:

  • It really strips your hair of everything. A hair mask / treatment is needed after use.
  • The conditioner is hard to wash out of thick hair. The color helps determine if it’s all washed out or not

Final Thoughts: this is not a product I would use often cause I wash my hair on a weekly basis. But I feel this is a perfect product duo for when I have lots of product build up from gels and creams in my hair. I plan on keeping these products close by for those special occasions.

Before wash:

After Shampoo and Conditioner (set in hair for 1hour +):

After washing the conditioner out, I did restore my curls with coconut oil.

Have you tried this shampoo and conditioner ? If so, tell me what you thought of it. What other Yes To products should I try ?

Hanging Shelf & Decor | Millennial Home Decor

Hello Passionista!!!!

I’ve been on a quest to re-decorate my space. Someone once told me, “everything in your home is a representation of you”. So I want all the pieces of me to be reflected in my space. I don’t have many visitors, but I should enjoy my space. Hey, I’m the one paying the rent right?

I recently added this handing shelf and decor on the wall of my kitchen island. Greenery is really becoming my thing. I want to create a zen and peaceful ambience in my kitchen space.

  • Wood hanging shelf (15 3/4″ x 4″) $5 … from Five Below
  • Metal tabletop letter “K” $3 … from Five Below
  • Tabletop boxwood decor plant $3 … from Target

For only $11 (plus tax) I put together this zen piece of wall decor. You don’t have to break the bank to decorate your space. Some things are better when designed by you. Don’t be afraid to DIY some of your decor desire to save money and create special decor pieces that are meaningful to your space. For example, the Hexagon spaced shelves I made out of popsicle sticks and featured on a previous blog…. click here

Simple zen is the inspiration for this piece of decor, along with my complete plans for my kitchen space. It’s all still a work in progress, as I add new pieces … I will share.

Send me pictures and share you favorite home decor in the comments…

The September – Total Hydration Beauty Box came with

img_8642We all know, I love a gooood sheet mask. This Panda Calming Facials Sheet Mask stood no chance when I opened this box.

img_8644

I love leave in conditioners. I have been using the Curls brand for a while now. I love the unique smell and feel of all their products. I’ve been using this Blueberry Leave In Conditioner on the ends of my curly hair.

img_8643

I mean … We all know that Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Lotion hits the spot for all you dry skin areas. I have this little trial size bottle at my desk. You’d be surprised how many times I look down at my feet throughout the day and see that they are yet again ashy.

img_8645

St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub was the first facial care product I used on my face as a teenager. I didn’t have bad skin or acne problems. So I did not need a super intense product. Just something simple to scrub off any dead skin, exfoliate, and clean the surface. Even now I don’t use any harsh facial products and this product is still in my skin care routine.

img_8641

The next time I wash my hair I will definitely be using this, Curls Unleashed Curl Defining Creme.

img_8646

It’s getting cold out so my lips most definitely need this Chapstick Hydration in Blood Orange. I HATE chapped and dry lips.

img_8640

I use Shea Moisture products ALL the time. I actually have the SheaMoisture Argan Oil & Argan Milk Shampoo and Blowout Creme in the full size already so a little extra will always help.

Don’t forget… If you think I should do a beauty box giveaway, comment and let me know. I saw one comment from my last post.I have tons of products and samples I could put together a Passion Box to giveaway.

Target Sepetember “Your New Basics” Beauty Box

Happy Saturday Passionistas!

So… I finally got my hands on the Target Beauty Box!

I have been trying to order one for at least 2 months now, but they are only while supplies last. They sell out quick. But I was able to get the September Total Hydration Beauty Box  and the September Your New Basics Beauty Box.

The Target Beauty Box is not a subscription service. It’s a online only, monthly beauty box for only $7. The box is packed with about 5-8 trial size items and $3 off coupon for beauty purchases of $15 or more. Honestly, this is a great deal. They’ll make perfect gifts for your friends and family members during the holidays without breaking the bank.

If you are a RED card member at Target you get the 5% off for using your card and shipping is free. So for only $14.24, let me show you what I got this month….

The September – Your New Basics Beauty Box came with

img_8630Acure Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner with argan extract and argan oil. The shampoo and conditioner formula is mild and good for sensitive skin. It’s also sulfate-free.

I’ve seen this product on shelf in many stores, but never purchased or used it. Now that I have these trial sizes I will definitely try it out, when I go back to wearing my natural curls for winter.

img_8633

Simple Micellar Water with no harsh chemical and artificial perfume or dyes. I am very big on make up wipes to take off my makeup, just because it’s quick and simple. Lately I have been using micellar water or gel to clean my face before applying make-up. You know just to make sure my face is really clean before I spread make-up all over it. I currently have the Garnier Micellar Water, but I’ve tried this product and love them both. This trial size bottle is great for travel, so I don’t have to carry around the big bottle in my suitcase or overnight bag. The box also included 2 dual-sided up & up Premium Cotton Rounds.

I thought that was a clever idea. Typical me, after I opened the box and took my blog pictures- I used the micellar water and cotton rounds right away. I used wanted to see how it felt.

img_8636Covergirl Tease Mascara for full natural lashes. I have seen the commerical for this new Total Tease product but wasn’t inspired to go purchase it. Honestly, I hardly ever buy mascara because I never run out. I have so many beauty subscriptions and mascara is so popular that I also have one. I don’t have a favorite brand or type or anything like that. But since a FULL size bottle of the Total Tease was in the box, I will use it.

Side Note: Every month I get so many eye liners, brow pins and mascara that I would never be able to use them all. So maybe I pick a few that I haven’t opened and do a little giveaway. Stay Tuned!  <Okay Back to The Review>
img_8632

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb with vitamin C and E to help promote healthy skin.

Honestly, I’ve never come across this product before, but who doesn’t love a good moisturizer. I can’t stand the feeling of a dirty face. So I keep facial wipes in my purse to wipe my face throughout the day if I need to. You know after you cleanse your face it can feel dry so you need to hydrate it. This little jar is the perfect size. I carry it in my purse for a little refresh throughout the day.

img_8631Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion with almond oil.

If you’ve been following Passion Locked for a while, I featured this product in one of my favorites blogs a few posts back. But my thoughts have changed since. I no longer like this product. I don’t know if they change the formula or ingredients, but it doesn’t make my skin feel nice and soft or hydrated after showering – and I still have to put on lotion afterwards. I’ll be adding this product to my giveaway box.

img_8634

Sensodyne ProNamel Strong & Bright Toothpaste for sensitive teeth and cavity prevention.

I use Crest toothpaste, because growing up that’s what my parents bought for the house. So when I moved out on my own and started purchasing toothpaste for myself, I went with what I knew. But I’m open to trying new things.

Stay Tuned for Part 2 of this review for a look at other box I got.

If you think I should do a beauty box giveaway, comment and let me know.

Spring Themed

It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means 2 more days til the WEEKEND BABY!!!!

But its also Spring Time. And to pop spring in Kadii’s Place. I did a little re-decorating. For the spring I decided to decorate my dinning table with this All white (tea inspired) theme. I love the display of all white. All white bathrooms, all white bedroom, All white parties, all white dinning room, winter wonderland. But I can never pull it off. I’m like a kid I will dirty up some white in a hot second. With a all white bedroom set, I’, bound to get make-up or juice on something at least once a week. I don’t even think I will be wearing White in my wedding- I refuse to drop something on my wedding dress on my one special day. I know what you’re thinking- “Girl, you’ll be okay, you wont drop anything”. But Girl, yes I Will.

So, my dinning room table is a tall 2- seat breakfast style table, with glass table top. To complete my all white theme, I took one trip to Target. This is where I found all the dishes for this little setting. I thought the squared plates gave off an elegant feel, also something different than what I had before. So each seat is centered with a squared dinner plate, salad plate, and soup bowl. And since I love tea, you know I had to throw in a Tea Spot to center the table and add a coffee mug and salsa plate to seal the deal. Now that its spring you have the option of having your tea hot or cold, so I added slim drinking glasses- for that southern sweet tea we all love.

My little table setting also encouraged me to take a trip to Cost Market, where I was able to find stackable coffee cups, for my bar top area. And more tea stuff that I’ll be sure to give you reviews on later.

Feel free to share with me some of your Spring Décor and find me on Pinterest.

Now don’t get to stress the rest of the week, trust me the weekend will be here before you know it. Remember before you start your weekend, stop back by on Friday for another #Passionlocked post.
