Hello Passionista

It’s Friday!!! We’ve almost made it through this week. It has been a long one for me and I can’t wait to relax for the weekend.

Even though it’s been a rough week, I’m always determined not to look like what I feel like. Today I’m enjoying the GA sunshine with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in the color Spice.

Purchased from ULTA on sale for buy 1 get one week during National Lipstick Day. I love this color, so I have to have it. It will definitely be a favorite in my fall makeup essentials.

New Look for Teavana

Hello Passionistas,

If you have been on the blogging journey with me from the beginning, you know that I love Teavana tea. I’ve done a few teavana tea hauls before. In the last haul, I shared some information that I found out about the Teavana brand. Teavana recently closed all of their store fronts and shut down the online store- so no more loose leaf teas from teavanna. But Teavana is far from being forgotten about. The brand is now a packaged beverage sold in Starbucks and other grocery stores.

This weekend I was in Wal-Mart and I came across a display panel od Teavana teas. I got all flavors they had in the store. There were priced at $1.98 (in Walmart) each and these were the only flavors (listed below) that the store I was in had. I hope there are more flavors than just these 4. There are only about 3 Starbucks stores I visit regularly and I have not seen these beverages in any other those stores. So, I’m not sure when and if I’ll be able to buy these in Starbucks (or at least the ones I go to) but I’ll glad I know where I can find them.

img_1388

Mango Black Tea w/ notes of Tropical Citrus

Meyer Lemon Black Tea w/ Lime Peel & Lemon grass – UNSWEETENED

Pineapple Berry Blue Herbal Tea w/ Hibiscus & Green Rooibos

Passion Tango Herbal Tea w/ Hibiscus & Cinnamon

I love the packaging- the shape of the bottle, the label colors and cleanliness of the product design. Often times Nutrition facts on food/drink products are small and hard to read, but for these beverages I feel like I know exactly what I’m drinking. I appreciate that.

img_1389

Each of the flavors are ones that I am familiar with. The only one I have not had before is the Meyer Lemon Black Tea w/ Lime Peel & Lemon grass. The other three (Mango, Pineapple Berry, and Passion Tango) I have purchased in Teavana before as a loose leaf tea. One advantage about the packaged beverages is the levels of sweetness. When I brew my tea myself I can sometimes over sweeten them. So with the bottle package and pre made tea it is made to perfection.

P.S. If you see these in store or see any other flavors send me pictures, plzzzzzz!

I absolutely enjoy baking.  What I love most about it is that I teach myself everything from measuring to modeling as well as sculpting to decorating.  Today I came to share with you all an easy Sugar Cookie Recipe that will leave you looking like the baddest pastry chef (: So let’s just jump right into it!!

Christmas Sugar Cookies

1 (16.5 oz) Pillsbury Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Dough

¼ to ½ cup of All Purpose Flour (*see note)

*flour amount depends on how you want your texture

Icing:

4 Cups Powdered Sugar

2 Tbsp Meringue Powder

1 Tsp Vanilla

½ cup hot water

Gel icing colors

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and thaw cookie dough until room temperature.

Step 2: In a large bowl combine the cookie dough and flour until you reach the proper consistency needed to be able to roll with a rolling pin or canned good.

Step 3:  Roll out sugar cookie dough about ¼ of an inch (cookies will spread when baking) and with a cookie cutter cut out your cookies.

Step 4: Place cookies on cookie sheet and cookie for about 8-9 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.

Step 5: Combine all icing ingredients until fully combined and smooth.  Separate icing into however many bowls for however many colors you are making. (extra hot water may be needed to fine proper icing consistency)

Step 6: With a icing piping bag or a fine tip squeeze bottle carefully icing the cookies designing them in any way you like.  Allow to cool after icing for about 30 minutes

DONE!

I hope that you all enjoyed this simple sugar cookie recipe.  I hope that I was able to help you all out in the kitchen with those holiday desserts.

I absolutely enjoyed being a guest blogger here on PassionLocked and I hope that I will be able to share more post with you all in the future.

October Ipsy Bag

Hello Passionistas!

I know it’s already November !!! (I’m screaming)

Time is flying by sooooooo fast. I feel like one week I get my monthly ipsy bag and the next week I’ll getting a email that my next one is on the way. Needless to say, today I am reviewing the “Spellbound” October Ispy bag.

img_9545

I love this Furless Eyeshadow Brush. I don’t beat my face everyday- but I do throw on a natural shadow to get me through the day. This brush is great for the windshield wiper method.

img_9541

With cold weather comes ashy hands- and I am not here for it. So this TONYMOLY Peach Hand Cream will come in handy for on the go travel. I normally buy or use my free coupons for the trail size bath and body works hand lotions. I keep them in my car, hand bag and work bag, at my desk in my car, one at the kitchen sink and one at the bathroom sink.

This NAILMEDIC Charcoal Infused Nail Polish is super cute. I that this product is cruelty free, paraben free, sulfate free, phthalates free, GMO free, and triclosan free.I don’t do my nails myself. I get gel on my fingernails but I can see this color on my toenails for winter.

Again, I say I don’t beat my face everyday. But when I do decide to do a full face I use the NYC translucent powder. This, it Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed: Airbrush Silk Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder is a nice sized product. With the holidays around the corner I’m sure this finishing powder will come in handy for those face beats I will do. My only concern is the color being to light for my skin tone, but I’m sure I can work it out.

img_9539

I go crazy for anything mint on my skin- because it feels so good. I used a small amount of this Skinvolve Phoenician Secret Scrub- Peppermint on my hands, just to see how it felt on my skin and make sure I don’t have some type of reaction to it. But it felt so good (just as I thought) I can’t wait to use it as a facial. This product is meant to shed tired and dull skin.

Miss Spa

Good Day Passionista!

So you know I love a good sheet mask.

I have been using them more often than none now.

Sheet Mask are less expensive, less mess, and effective.

Every few days, I use a sheet mask in the morning while in the shower and getting ready to start my day. Most packages state that you should leave the sheet mask on your face for at least of 20 minutes. But I like to leave it on my face a little longer. I mean I use makeup and lotions that sit on my face all day so I can clean it a little longer.

Check out these 6 Miss Spa Sheet Mask that I picked up at Target for $2.99 each:

Miss Spa Exfoliate sheet mask

Miss Spa Clear blemish patches

Miss Spa Brighten sheet mask

Miss Spa Hydrate sheet mask

Miss Spa Oxygenating sheet mask

Miss Spa 24K Gold radiance mask

These products can be found at Target or https://miss-spa.com

Coffee Obsessed.

Hello Passionista!

img_8288-1

Body scrubs are my favorite thing about my skin care routine. I use body scrubs on a weekly basis to make sure my skin stays soft and silky. Because I love products so much, I’m not limited to one specific brand or type.

Lately, I have been interested in this new trend of Coffee Body Scrubs. These are my top three:

Coffee Body Scrub from World Market, priced at $9.99

 img_8255-1img_8257-1

This product is meant for invigorating, exfoliating and smoothing. The product is a dry scrub, which could be harmful to sensitive skin if rubbed to hard. The scent of the coffee and mint scrub is not the best refreshing scent I would like, but it’s fresh. https://www.worldmarket.com/product/coffee-and-mint-body-scrub.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=Search

Energizing Coffee Body Scrub by ULTABeauty, priced at $18.50

 img_8251-1img_8254-1

This product is made with vitamin E, Sweet Almond oil and Coconut oil. Unlike the Coffee and Mint Body Scrub this scrub is not dry, it’s formulated with oils. This scrub is caffeined to energize the skin, infused with natural oils to soothe and nourish the skin, and the vitamin E fights off free radicals. The scent smiles more like the fresh coffee beans.

Cup O’Coffee Face and Body Mask from LUSH, priced at $11.95

 img_8259-1img_8250-1

This product is to kick-start your day with a stimulating blend of fresh ground coffee, kaolin and agave syrup. This product is creamy and calming. I love that these products are freshly hand made by actual people. This product is creamy and thick, unlike the others.

I recommend all three of these items products to you. It’s interesting that they all do the same thing, in three different unique forms. Please see the links above but further details of each item.

Ipsy Bag Over Easy

Good Day Passionistas!

First of all, I love this Over Easy make-up bag. It’s super cute!

img_8116

My bag was filled with:

I love that the Ciate London Wonderwand Gel Kohl Liner is a 2-in-1. Not only is it a liner, it also has a little brush on the other in. I am still learning how to do my own eyebrows. I haven’t really learned the whole shaping techniques yet. But I do occasionally fill them in with a liner. So this will be a great handy new tool to use.

The Laritzy Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick packaging is cute. I love the frost bottle with the white top. The lipstick color is a blushy nude color, which is my favorite. I used to be into loud lip colors, but now I like natural tones only. I don’t even like wearing red lipstick anymore. And honey! Ruby Woo (from Mac) stayed in use a two summers ago, but things change. I think this product is going to be perfect for my everyday office makeup. Quick and easy to apply

I’ve never heard of this product → Tarte Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. I am willing to try it and see if I can feel anything spectacular about it.

A girl can never have too many blushes. I will definitely give this  Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush product a try. Since its summer, I haven’t really done a full face of makeup because of the heat. But my birthday is coming up and I plan on doing a full face for my birthday dinner. So I will use this product and the Nomad Illuminated Highlighted Powder in the color Stochholm – midnight sun.

Teavana Favorites

Hello Passionistas!

It is no secret that I love tea. Last week I took a trip to Teavana to get new summertime tea.

I normally go to teavana once in the summer and once in the winter and buy my tea in bulks. I enjoy brewing a fresh pitcher of tea every Sunday to have for the week.

On a weekly basis, I say that the hardest decision I have to make is my nail color. Until I go into teavana. I think its because I don’t go in the store often and when I do I like to get 4 different blends in bulk. But if you’ve ever been in Teavana you know they have a wall of nothing but tea behind the counter. So I literally stand there for what seems like forever, making my decision. So this is what I got this time:

img_7639

Hot Pink Lemonade – Citrus Tea

Strawberry Daiquiri -Blended Tea

Strawberry Slender Pu-Erh- Flavored Black Tea

Mandarin Mimosa – Blended Tea

Natural Belgian Rock Sugar

img_7644

In the store, they bag the loose leaf in paper bags. When I get home, I transfer them into my tea canisters for storage.

img_7645

Mandarin Mimosa is a blend of two types of loose leaf teas. When I was in the store they were sampling this one. I had like 3 cups as I made up my mind about what I wanted. It was really good, more fruity than sweet.

Hot Pink Lemonade is a citrus tea. I have never tried it before but I thought it would be a good summer time tea that I can mix with fresh squeezed lemonade.

Strawberry Slender is a flavored black tea. I have purchased this tea many times before. I like to mix with pineapple juice and add slices of strawberries.

Strawberry Daiquiri is also a new buy for me. It is a blend of two types of loose leaf teas as well. The loose leaves were sampled in a dish and it smelled so wonderful and fruity. I just had to have it. This tea is actually really heavy with dried fruit, so it may look like you’re only getting a little bit. But a little bit goes a long way.

Until next time,

XOXOXO
