February| Passion Palette Creations

Hello Passionista-

So, I thought I would end the month by sharing some of the custom orders and creations I’ve completed this month. As some of you may know, I am an Event Planner and I have a small business called The Passion Palette specializing in events, customer decor and gifts, and marketing consulting. One of my goals for 2019, is to expand my business by advertising and collaborating more. I want to start sharing more of my work with you all. My new challenge is to share my creations each month in a blog post and develop a web page for The Passion Palette.

This month, I completed 2 custom order and 1 event. My photographer hasn’t gotten back to me with the photos from my most recent event. But I do have picture of the custom order from this month.

DIY Project | Hexagon Shape Shelf

Hello Passionistas!

I’m excited to share with you, my first DIY project video.

How to make Hexagon Shaped Shelves out of popsicle sticks?

This project was super simple to make and cost less than $20.00

I hung the shelves on the wall near the entry way of my apartment. This is also where I have my storage ottoman to store my shoes and handbags. I thought the wall decor gave this area a little more character.

Be sure to drop some feedback in the comments section below and let me know what you think. If you’d like to see more videos like this one – give this post a like!

Pinterest DIY Project

Hello Passionista!

I love Pinterest. I literally have a board for just about anything. When I’m planning an event, going on a trip, or looking for a new hobby, Pinterest is my go to place for inspiration and ideas.

Every holiday, my family gets together for dinner and fun together. Lately, I have been head of decorating committee. For Easter Sunday, I made a mason jar centerpiece inspired by a picture I liked on Pinterest.

Here’s the Pinterest picture:

Here’s my centerpiece:

It was simple and quick to make. All the supplies came from the Dollar Tree. I was able to fill 8 mason jars for centerpieces in less than 20 minutes.

How did I do?

DIY Project: Candy Jar

Hello Passionistas!!!

img_0467

I want to bring more DIY and creative blogs to Passion Locked. I mean arts and crafts are truly a passion of mine. So today I will be showing you how to make these cute little candy jars from clay pots and fish bowls.

This is a great DIY projects for your home, office, and gifts. Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I think this candy jar will be great to decorate your home or office with, or give as a gift. I will be making three of these Candy Jars, all different colors.

Here’s what I am using:

  • 4.25 in Clay Pot and Saucer from Home Depot (0.78 each, pot and saucer sold separately)
  • Mini Fish Bowl from The Dollar Tree
  • Wooden Ball from Hobby Lobby ($2.99/ 4pk)
  • Acrylic Paint and Sponge brushes, for this project I am using 3 colors: CraftSmart Red, Anita’s Royal Fuchsia, and Folk Art 676E Inca Gold
  • For decorative supplies I am using Gold Adhesive Diamond Wrap and Red Diamond Wrap from The Dollar Tree
  • Loctite Super Glue
  • Parchment Paper

To start, paint the clay pot and saucer and wooden ball. I painted one coat, let it dry then painted a second coat.

Side Note: I used the parchment Paper to protect my table top from the paint.

Then, using Loctite super glue- glue the wooden ball to the top (center) of the saucer. As well as gluing the fish bowl to the (bottom) clay pot.

Now, it’s time to decorate. I am using the adhesive diamond wrap around the bottom of the gold candy jar and the red diamond wrap around the bottom of the red candy jar. You can personalize the candy jar with other decorative stickers or letters. I plan on actually personalizing these candy jars for special people- so I’m not going to post the finished product in this blog. But closer to Valentine’s Day I will post the finished look on my IG (@passionlocked) account.

Lastly, Fill the candy jar with you favorite sweet treats.

I hope you liked this blog. If you decide to make one of these candy jars yourself, share pictures with me.
