One of my favorite YouTuber’s Raven Elysee inspired this DIY project after watching her Decorating My House DIY projects + New Furniture vlog. I have been re- decorating my apartment with more things of my style. I want every room and every decoration to reflect who I am as a person. I consider myself to be very creative, I love creating things. So a lot of my home decor will be D.I.Y projects. For instances, the Hexagon Shaped Shelves … click here to see blog.
For this project you’ll need:
- Acrylic Paint – 3 colors (Midnight Blue, Pink, Nude)
- Metal Flakes
- Paper Towels
I purchased an 8 pack of the 10 x 10 canvas, I had a vision of doing tiled art on one large wall in my living room space. My new color scheme for my living room space is Blue + Pink, so I used those colors. And it add a third color I used a fresh tone nude.
I started by laying out my canvas on a table.
Staring with the darkest color first, I dropped dots of paint randomly all over t
With a paper towel, I swiped the paint from left to right. Making streaks, sort of.
Before starting a new color, I used my hair dryer to dry the paint.
First I applied blue, then pink, then the nude paint .
Lastly, I took the metal flakes and just tore off a few small pieces and placed them on top of the wet paint at random.
Here is the Finished Product
My living has double doors that lead out to the balcony. I decided to tile 4 of the canvas paints on each side of the double doors. As you walk into the front door the back wall and double doors are what you see. I think my abstract art looking good in this spot, even though I visioned something different. I want to add some greenery or plants to this view. Maybe a tall faux plant in each corner under the paintings.
Hello Passionistas !!!
Yesterday, my girls and I experienced yet another outstanding show by Beyoncé featuring Jay Z at the On The Run 2 Tour. It’s always a pleasure when 👑🐝 blesses us with her creativity and stage presence.
This show was my 1st time watching Chloe x Halle (Beyoncé’s artist) perform live. I love those girls! They are such great artists and I am a BIG fan. I even made t-shirts to wear to the concert.
Check out my wardrobe choice:
Black Tee (Men’s) purchased at Walmart
Red Biker shorts purchased at Walmart
Black and White Vans
Beauty Supply store clear fanny pack
NATURAL HAIR PROTECTIVE STYLE
I’ve had this hairstyle idea in my head for a while, but never had the opportunity to do it until the concert. It turnt out better than I thought. The black choker, hoop earrings and makeup really brought the whole look together for me.

I’m excited to share with you, my first DIY project video.
How to make Hexagon Shaped Shelves out of popsicle sticks?
I hung the shelves on the wall near the entry way of my apartment. This is also where I have my storage ottoman to store my shoes and handbags. I thought the wall decor gave this area a little more character.

I love Pinterest. I literally have a board for just about anything. When I’m planning an event, going on a trip, or looking for a new hobby, Pinterest is my go to place for inspiration and ideas.
Every holiday, my family gets together for dinner and fun together. Lately, I have been head of decorating committee. For Easter Sunday, I made a mason jar centerpiece inspired by a picture I liked on Pinterest.
Here’s the Pinterest picture:
Here’s my centerpiece:
It was simple and quick to make. All the supplies came from the Dollar Tree. I was able to fill 8 mason jars for centerpieces in less than 20 minutes.
How did I do?

I want to bring more DIY and creative blogs to Passion Locked. I mean arts and crafts are truly a passion of mine. So today I will be showing you how to make these cute little candy jars from clay pots and fish bowls.
This is a great DIY projects for your home, office, and gifts. Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I think this candy jar will be great to decorate your home or office with, or give as a gift. I will be making three of these Candy Jars, all different colors.
Here’s what I am using:
- 4.25 in Clay Pot and Saucer from Home Depot (0.78 each, pot and saucer sold separately)
- Mini Fish Bowl from The Dollar Tree
- Wooden Ball from Hobby Lobby ($2.99/ 4pk)
- Acrylic Paint and Sponge brushes, for this project I am using 3 colors: CraftSmart Red, Anita’s Royal Fuchsia, and Folk Art 676E Inca Gold
- For decorative supplies I am using Gold Adhesive Diamond Wrap and Red Diamond Wrap from The Dollar Tree
- Loctite Super Glue
- Parchment Paper
To start, paint the clay pot and saucer and wooden ball. I painted one coat, let it dry then painted a second coat.
Side Note: I used the parchment Paper to protect my table top from the paint.
Then, using Loctite super glue- glue the wooden ball to the top (center) of the saucer. As well as gluing the fish bowl to the (bottom) clay pot.
Now, it’s time to decorate. I am using the adhesive diamond wrap around the bottom of the gold candy jar and the red diamond wrap around the bottom of the red candy jar. You can personalize the candy jar with other decorative stickers or letters. I plan on actually personalizing these candy jars for special people- so I’m not going to post the finished product in this blog. But closer to Valentine’s Day I will post the finished look on my IG (@passionlocked) account.
Lastly, Fill the candy jar with you favorite sweet treats.
I hope you liked this blog. If you decide to make one of these candy jars yourself, share pictures with me. If you would like one of these candy jars but do not want to make it, DM me on Instagram. Please share your thoughts in the comments section- let me know if want to see more of these DIYer projects. Feel free to leave suggestions of DIY project I should be try and blog about.

Happy New Year Passionistas!!!!!!!
It is 2018!!!!!!!!!
This year has already been a hoot. I am just now posting to you guys because I have been sick and shut in with no desire to blog. I am just now getting back to feeling like my true self.
2017 was a long year for me. It was a really pleasing year as well. I started a new job, graduated with my Masters degree, travel a little, completed my first Passion Project and continued my blogging journey. At first I was a little unsettle about exiting 2017 and enter a new year. Honestly on News Year Eve, I was a little sad. But as I counted down into the new year with my friends I instantly felt grateful to be in the New Year.
This year I plan to continue to expand my journey as a DIY and Lifestyle blogger. I plan to introduce vlogs for my ipsy bag and beauty box product reviews. My goal is to also produce for DIY projects and ideas to share with you all. I will also be starting a “Share your Passion” monthly segment, where I have other passionistas as guest bloggers. I created Passion Locked as a way to express and share the things I am interested and passionate about, so I who love to build a community of like-minded passionistas. I plan to create a GroupMe community for all my DIY’ers and Passionistas to share with another.
Last year I completed my first Passion Project, which was Quilts for Babies. In 2018 I plan to do the Quilts for babies again in honor of March of Dimes and start a few other Passion projects.
Thank you all for stopping by Passion Locked and chopping it up with me from week to week. I love to hear from my reader, you can always contact me at email@example.com.
