I don’t know about you but I’m sick of working from home- in my home. Let me explain!
I have been full time entrepreneur, running a business from the comfort of my home for over a year now. As a creative entrepreneur my work allows me to be out of the house for most of my projects. Pre-pandemic a typical day for me was working a few hours at a coffee shop, on-site meeting with clients, running errands and shopping for events. Since March I’ve mostly been in the house. At first it was cool then Summer came around and things start to feel different for me. I just want to go to my favorite coffee shop, pick a nice spot by the window and bust out some work for a couple of hours of my day. Now I’m having to be extremely creative about how and where I work.
Since outside has opened back up a little bit, I now get the opportunity to take onsite meetings again. But my admin day to day tasks are still being done from my home. It’s annoying sitting the house all day- in the same spot. So this week I tried to get a little creative with my work space for a day. I decided to work outside at the Botanical Gardens (in Athens, GA). I took my notebook, laptop and book to the garden to quietly get some work done and soak up the cool breeze and sunlight. Now I’m not normally a outdoor person but it felt good to work outside for a few hours.
I even had time sit on a bench a read a few pages from the book HER by Pierre Jeanty.
Now I’m on a quest to find even more creative spaces that will get me out of the house to do some work. Hopefully this seasonal weather will allow me to explore more outdoor places.
Before you go, share with me other outdoor places you go to work, relax, or read a book.
May was a great month and full of celebrations. For Mother’s Day my family decided to present my Grandmother with a money bouquet. I pulled out my creativity and created this flower money centerpiece for Sunday dinner with Grandmother. This was my first time making money flowers. I watched a few Youtube videos in order to creat this master piece. Safe to save my Grandmother was overjoyed and surpised for Mother’sDay.
This month, I was given the opportunity to make some cupcake toppers for a brand launch party. This was also my first time making cupcake toppers. But easy enough, I was given the brand logo to re-create in the form of a topper for some sweet treats. These specialites were made with my Circuit Explorer Air 2.
Lastly, I booked a graduation party and I made my first balloon garland. It turned out really nice. I think this thing was about 12ft long, I didn’t mean for it to be so long. But I guess I got carried away. For this project I watched some DIY Youtube videos as well. I used a balloon maching from Amazon and fishing wire to put together the balloon garland. Then I used a gold table cloth and studio stand to bring together the complete look. The graduate enjoyed taking pictures with her family and friends in celebration of her high school graduation.
DIYher Workshop is a new studio in Atlanta operated by the talented, Bianca Octavia. Bianca has taken her creativity to a new height, she will be hosting DIYher workshops and private crafting parties. The DIYher is a beginners workshop series designed to teach women how to build, craft, cook, and create. The first DIYher workshop was Tuffing 101, Bianca lead the class for a hands on learning experience with creating a fun sized cuffing board.
I was so excited to finally learn the tuffing technique. I’ve watched many YouTube tutorials of creatives making headboard, office memo boards, and upholstering furniture, but I never felt confident enough to make one. When I saw the flyer for the Tuffing 101 workshop, I knew I had to attend. Bianca is super sweet and a really great instructor. She’s very hands on and creative as a DIYher and workshop instructor. The workshop was only $30 and included all the supplies and wine needed for the project. I’ve never been to a DIY class before so I didn’t have any expectations. Soon as I walked into the studio, I was in awe of the workshop set up, the open space and location. The studio really embodies creativity, making it a relaxing place to learn, create and share. I had so much fun throughout the workshop. We learned how to make cuffing boards step by step, listen to music and talked, took pictures, enjoyed some wine.
I think I’ve found my new favorite “me time” place. I love when I can get lost in a project that allows me to create something amazing but takes my mind off everything else going on in my life for hours. I’ll be attending many more workshops.

Yesterday, my girls and I experienced yet another outstanding show by Beyoncé featuring Jay Z at the On The Run 2 Tour. It’s always a pleasure when 👑🐝 blesses us with her creativity and stage presence.
This show was my 1st time watching Chloe x Halle (Beyoncé’s artist) perform live. I love those girls! They are such great artists and I am a BIG fan. I even made t-shirts to wear to the concert.
Check out my wardrobe choice:
Black Tee (Men’s) purchased at Walmart
Red Biker shorts purchased at Walmart
Black and White Vans
Beauty Supply store clear fanny pack
NATURAL HAIR PROTECTIVE STYLE
I’ve had this hairstyle idea in my head for a while, but never had the opportunity to do it until the concert. It turnt out better than I thought. The black choker, hoop earrings and makeup really brought the whole look together for me.
Tonight, my family and I had a cute little snack and game night.
We played a series of minute to win it games and ate good food. The kids made ginger bread houses.
But I wanted to share the cute little dollar tree decorations I created…
I made these cute little DIY snow globes, everything purchased from the dollar tree.
I found these cute candle stick holders at dollar tree and loved them so much that I bought all that were on the shelf. They came in white but I spray painted a few of them silver for my the base to my snow globe.
Using double sided tape I taped the bottoms of a toy Christmas tree to the candle stick holder. I used a steamless wine glass as the globe- putting just a little bit of white confetti as snow.
So cute quick and easy …
You can also use a wine glass with a steam as a globe with a candle on top.
To complete my table decor, I used Garland and toy gift boxes, mason jars and candles, and candy canes.
Okay! I have the greatest obsession with stationary. I can spend hours in a craft store searching the bins of small packed stationary items. Just last week I went to Michael’s and spent at least an hour at those wire baskets full of goodies to sort through.
This is what I found….
These bookmarkers are great for saving your page in a good book. Or in my case, a good magazine or notebooks. lol
I found these paper clip markers for the first time in stores. I have seen them on esty and pinterest, but never in stores. So when I saw these I wanted them all. I thought they would be best for my journey, planner and work notebook.
Then I hit the jack pot. I found this bundle of joy on a major markdown sale. This bundle pack was only $5.99 (from $19.99). I love the packaging-it’s easier to store, and I love each design.

You all have met my family, right! I mean I shared our holiday photos with you all back in December … Okay, so… now, let me share what we have recently been up too…
Back in December, my youngest cousin came up with the idea to put together care packages for the sick n’shut in and homeless in our hometown. This was something we could get the entire family involved with. The greatest part of it all was the time we spent together doing it. We all chipped in to collect care package items like hygiene and personal care items, some snacks and note cards for personal messages.
To save money I found some small boxes that were about to be thrown out at my job. So we re-assemble and used the boxes to pack the items and wrapped them in leftover wrapping paper from the holidays.
A few Saturday’s ago, we all got together at my parents’ house to assemble our care packages. We ended up with a table full of goodies. From deodorant, wash cloths, tooth brushes, tooth paste, hand sanitizer, lotion, soap, Band-Aids, q-tips, lip chap, bottle water, to single packed snacks – and a personalized message of encouragement.
We had lots creative ciaos in the mix, but we managed to develop some sort of assemble line to fill the box and get them wrapped.
The last and most difficult part was loading them in my grandmother’s car for delivery. This should have been the easiest part. (lol)
I love lending a helping hand and doing something special for other whenever I can. I was so elated that this was something the whole family participated with in some way.
