DIYher Workshop is a new studio in Atlanta operated by the talented, Bianca Octavia. Bianca has taken her creativity to a new height, she will be hosting DIYher workshops and private crafting parties. The DIYher is a beginners workshop series designed to teach women how to build, craft, cook, and create. The first DIYher workshop was Tuffing 101, Bianca lead the class for a hands on learning experience with creating a fun sized cuffing board.
I was so excited to finally learn the tuffing technique. I’ve watched many YouTube tutorials of creatives making headboard, office memo boards, and upholstering furniture, but I never felt confident enough to make one. When I saw the flyer for the Tuffing 101 workshop, I knew I had to attend. Bianca is super sweet and a really great instructor. She’s very hands on and creative as a DIYher and workshop instructor. The workshop was only $30 and included all the supplies and wine needed for the project. I’ve never been to a DIY class before so I didn’t have any expectations. Soon as I walked into the studio, I was in awe of the workshop set up, the open space and location. The studio really embodies creativity, making it a relaxing place to learn, create and share. I had so much fun throughout the workshop. We learned how to make cuffing boards step by step, listen to music and talked, took pictures, enjoyed some wine.
I think I’ve found my new favorite “me time” place. I love when I can get lost in a project that allows me to create something amazing but takes my mind off everything else going on in my life for hours. I’ll be attending many more workshops.

I hung the shelves on the wall near the entry way of my apartment. This is also where I have my storage ottoman to store my shoes and handbags. I thought the wall decor gave this area a little more character.

I thought I would start your week off with a little DIY special. I do a lot of DIY projects but I never really blog them. So I am trying to get better with blogging my DIY projects.
c If you remember my Goodwill Haul, I showed y’all some clear glass jars and candle stick holders I purchased. I used those in this DIY project. I didn’t make them for any specific, I was honestly just waiting some time. With a few holidays coming up in the next couple of months, I know I will be decorating for our family events. I can use them as centerpieces or candy jars on the deserts table. Anything really !
I only used metallic spray paint and super glue gel to make these beauties. To start, I used baby wipes to clean the jar and candle holders. If you have ever bought anything from Goodwill, you know they write the prices is some special chalk marker or something. I find it easy to wipe it away with a baby wipe.
For the jar lids I used metallic spray paint to paint them this golden-bronze look. The super glue gel is this best glue to use for projects like this. With the jars placed up side down on a flat service, I used the gel glue on the rim of the candle holder. Next, I placed the candle holder in its place and letting it dry for 2 to 3 days.
Finally you have a finished products.
These glam holders can be used in so many places around the house:
In the Kitchen for you flour, sugar and other condiments
On the Kitchen island as jar/ treat jars
In the Bedroom, as decor for the dresser or night stand
In the Bathroom for q-tips, cotton ball and make-up blenders
Okay! I have the greatest obsession with stationary. I can spend hours in a craft store searching the bins of small packed stationary items. Just last week I went to Michael’s and spent at least an hour at those wire baskets full of goodies to sort through.
This is what I found….
These bookmarkers are great for saving your page in a good book. Or in my case, a good magazine or notebooks. lol
I found these paper clip markers for the first time in stores. I have seen them on esty and pinterest, but never in stores. So when I saw these I wanted them all. I thought they would be best for my journey, planner and work notebook.
Then I hit the jack pot. I found this bundle of joy on a major markdown sale. This bundle pack was only $5.99 (from $19.99). I love the packaging-it’s easier to store, and I love each design.

If you follow me on snapchat, instagram, or even Facebook, you know I’ve been working on this quilt for a while. It actually took a bit more time because I tried a new binding technique I saw on YouTube.
I love the colors and the pattern. I tried this pattern before and found that it the finished product was stunning.
So next, I am actually going to try working on two quilt at the same time. One for a baby girl. And the other will be a t-shirt quilt. A lot people have been interested in t-shirt quilt so I am going to try to blog the entire process. So if you are thinking about making your own t-shirt quilts, stay tuned for my blog on that.
