Black Panther Party Group Costume | Halloween 2018

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

As a kid, I never really got to dress up for Halloween. So now, I love to get dressed up for Halloween and luckily so does my friends. Halloween is one of my besties favorite holiday, so I have to dress up no matter if I like it or not … lol

For the past 3 years, my sister gals and I have did group costumes. As hard as it is to get 6 girls with different preferences on one accord to decide on one idea that everyone likes, the finish product and the good time we have is always worth it.

Year 1 we managed to achieve ” The Royal Flush” – DIY costumes made by me.

Year 2 we quickly put together “The Purge Trio“- DIY costumes put together by me.

This year, we pulled off the ” Black Panther Party” costumes put together by all of us.

Honestly, this group costume was the easiest to put together. Everyone picked an all black outfit to fit there personal style and comfort level – because its was cold. We all purchases black gloves, black berets, and black sunglasses.

My entire outfit is from Forever 21, but it was all stuff I already had in my closet (off shoulder sweater, Black ripped jeans, and booties).

Black Sunglasses from the Dollar Tree

Black Beret from Target ($12.99)

Black Gloves from Amazon ($7.99)

We hit the town for a fun night of loud music, dancing and eating sweet treats. I swear I had to much candy and cupcakes for comfort.

Lifestyle | Top 5 Obsessions

Hello Passionistas-

To start off the week, I thought I would share some of my latest obsessions ..

img_0384 Podcasts

I think I listen to podcasts more than I do music. And definitely the radio. The last time I listened to the radio, I was living in New York and would listen to Power 105.1 /the breakfast Club on my way to work every morning. But now, podcasts have all my attentions. I just watch the breakfast club on Youtube now, okkkkkkkur !!!!

Although true crime was my introduction to podcasts, I have grown to love and connect with so many podcast.

  • The Women Evolved Podcast by Sarah Jakes Roberts is a new listen for me but for the past 2 weeks, I have been binging every episode… honey! I love how inspirations she is. I first saw her on Facebook discover page clips of her preaching and I would always say this lady is speaking to me, Then somehow I found she had a podcast recently… it’s lit very morning on the ride to work thinking about if I agree with the rescue eve or not.
  • The Read with Kid Fury and Crissle is my weekly treat. I love the energy they put out into the world and the grind they are on. I support !!!! I’m a fan!!! So I every morning I get up and go to work like adults do and then I get off and grind for myself and the things I want to accomplish. Then Thursday evening comes and I lay back on my nice comfy sofa and laugh my ass off. Culture I Stand For.
  • Serial was the first podcast I ever listened to when season 1 launched. This was my introduction to investigative and true crime podcast. I am obsessed. I am loving season three, inside the court room. Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.
  • Small Doses with Amanda Seales is becoming another treat. Well, maybe self care resource. Amanda is legit smart, funny and black.
  • Mediocre to  Masterful is a new podcast that a new friend of mine hosts and it is full of self help informations. After listening to 2 episodes my journal is full of charts, lists, and pages of reflect and planning for better.

Beyonce graced us with the Vouge – September 2018 Issue and I thought I was going to miss out. Honey, every store I went to seem to not carry vogue, like huh? Where do I buy this magazine? Randomly, I went to CVS and found just 1, so I bought it. PURE BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is BEAUTY, I love it. Queen was working it.

Youtube has taken over TV. From Vloggers to Bloggers and web series and educational content. Youtube is just like google. I love the Ellies, Giants, Raven Elyse, 85 South show

Almost every week I’m ordering from Amazon & I have even subscribed for Audible through amazon.

I bought a Plants (Aloe Vera) from Kroger and I have been loving having it handy for my skin. I’m aloe to cut pure aloe just to rub down my body in the showers or blend up a mask for my face and hair.

What are some of your obsessions?

Lipstick of the Week: MAC matte lipstick

Hello Passionista!

This week has been awesome. On Sunday, I met up with friends to spend some chill time in the park. The weather was nice, sun was shinning, and we needed some girl chat.

I love a good park picnic set up. So on short notice I gathered my blanket, cards games, snacks and wine for our little park adventure. The weather was not too hot or too cold, allowing us to enjoy the park for about five hours out in the sun. (Well under a tree really)

Since this was a outside event and I sweat so easily, I made it a fresh face SUNDAY. But you know I can’t go without lipstick.

This week I have fallen in love with the MAC Matte Lipstick in the color whirl, all over again. I purchased this lipstick last fall and with the seasons changing and getting new lipsticks it has just been siting on my lipstick rack. But look at it on me. It is time I bring this whirl color out of retirement and start rocking it again.

OOTD|Dare to be Different

Hello Passionistas !!!

Yesterday, my girls and I experienced yet another outstanding show by Beyoncé featuring Jay Z at the On The Run 2 Tour. It’s always a pleasure when 👑🐝 blesses us with her creativity and stage presence.

This show was my 1st time watching Chloe x Halle (Beyoncé’s artist) perform live. I love those girls! They are such great artists and I am a BIG fan. I even made t-shirts to wear to the concert.

Check out my wardrobe choice:

Black Tee (Men’s) purchased at Walmart

Red Biker shorts purchased at Walmart

Black and White Vans

Beauty Supply store clear fanny pack

NATURAL HAIR PROTECTIVE STYLE

I’ve had this hairstyle idea in my head for a while, but never had the opportunity to do it until the concert. It turnt out better than I thought. The black choker, hoop earrings and makeup really brought the whole look together for me.

Brunch with Friends

Helllloooooo !!!!

I know I’ve been missing for two days of blogmas. I’ve been busy with orders and shopping…🤷🏽‍♀️

But, I’m back now !!!!! 😍

I recently hosted a Christmas PJs Brunch with all my girlfriends. It was super nice! But of course – as the host, I did not get any pictures. What I can say is— we had a good time.

I cooked a really nice brunch. I made lots of mimiosas and we drank lots of mimiosas!

We played “dirty santa” and cards against humanity… so many laughs and memories made…

I did manage to get a few snaps with my polaroid camera for my next scrapbook..

Until next time 💝

Xscape Concert (Blogmas Day 9)

It’s Saturday !!!

I am a weekend lover. Last night I went to the Great Xscape Tour to see- June’s Dairy, Zonnique, Tamar, Monica and Xscape. I have always loved Xscape- so seeing them in concert was amazing.

I missed most of June’s Dairy performance. But they need a lot of song covers- they opened the show. Zonnique did a good job but I didn’t know any of her songs. Tamar sung her face off as usual. But her savage time was a lot. She brought fans on stage and did a lot of talking about her divorce 🙄. I love Monica. And just like every time I seen her perform, she gave me chills. I have been a fan of Monica since a little girl when my mom used to play the Miss thing album.

<<<<
le have been talking about Xscape been off tune (mostly Kandi). But they sounded great last night. I was happy with the entire show.

Things Millenials Do: Sip N’ Paint

Hi Passionista-

I absolutely love Sip N’ Paint. I think the entire concept is soooooo relaxing.

I have been like 3 times and I wish I could go even more. I went the first time for my 24th birthday with some friends.

I went again with some members from my alumni group.

And the last time I went was when a few of my cousins came to visit.

Y’all know I am a creative soul and I appreciate all forms of art. So being able to create my own art that I can display in my home is so kool to me. Honestly my goal is to go enough times to make a collage of my paints in my home (whenever I decide to buy one).

I’m actually planning a mommy daughter night for me and my friends with our moms soon- this could be another time I get to go…

If you are in the atlanta area, check out Creavtive Connections in North Dekalb Mall. you can purchase a $16 groupon for a 2- hour class. The instruction is very talented and the class is always a joy.
