December Ipsy Bag Review

Hello Passionistas

There has been soo much going on that I am just now posting this review of my December Ipsy Bag. I must say I really enjoyed this months bag. I was thinking about maybe canceling my subscription for Ipsy because I never actually re-purchase any of the items- but this bag has encouraged me to keep my subscription just a little longer.

This is what I got this month:

img_0381ASLMissGlam Makeup Brush feels so good on my skin. I don’t buy different brands of brushes, my brand of choice is ELF. So getting different brands of makeup brushes in my subscription make up bag is a refresher. This is the 3rd brush I have received in a ipsy bag. I enjoy testing out new and different brushes. I always have dirty brushes, so having clean back up brushes is least a plus. You can never have too many makeup brushes.

img_0380You all should know by now I love sheet mask. To my surprise I received 2 sheet mask this bag, Purlisse Green Tea + Ginger Rejuvenating Sheet Mask and Coconut + Rice Nourishing Sheet Mask. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I like the product. I was excited about the Green Tea and Ginger mask, so I used it first. It was as expected smelled great, felt soothing, and left my skin feeling refreshed.

img_0385

Charcoal is a booming trend the skincare industry. This winter I have taken a high sense of liking to anything charcoal in skincare products. This Global Beauty Card Charcoal wash-off mask is a wonderful treat to play in. I haven’t quick used it because I waiting for the right moment. The product is a mud based solution that helps unclogs pores and life away impurities. I want to wait until my skin is clogged with 2-day makeup and sweat cause I’ve been to busy partying … ha!

img_0383

I love Smashbox. I love red lips. So…. this Smashbox Lipstick in the color Legendary was a great added accessory to my makeup looks. I am not as much as a red lip girl as I’d like to be. But this little red stick is the perfect size for my red lip moments.

img_0384

I have received like three City Color Cosmetics Shimmer shadow in my bag, this one is  in the color It’s A Girl. I love these shimmer shadows, they are super pigmented and rich in color. I currently wear a bronze shimmer shadow from a summer bag I received -with my everyday makeup look.

img_0382Bonus Buy: If you are a Ipsy Bag Subscriber you know you can gain points and purchase select items with the points you earn. So I used my points to purchase this NYX Professional Makeup Faux Blacks Eyeliner in the color midnight.

I want to start sharing new products, deals, and promos with you all. So after each post I will share a great deal that you should explore.

Target Sepetember “Your New Basics” Beauty Box

Happy Saturday Passionistas!

So… I finally got my hands on the Target Beauty Box!

I have been trying to order one for at least 2 months now, but they are only while supplies last. They sell out quick. But I was able to get the September Total Hydration Beauty Box  and the September Your New Basics Beauty Box.

The Target Beauty Box is not a subscription service. It’s a online only, monthly beauty box for only $7. The box is packed with about 5-8 trial size items and $3 off coupon for beauty purchases of $15 or more. Honestly, this is a great deal. They’ll make perfect gifts for your friends and family members during the holidays without breaking the bank.

If you are a RED card member at Target you get the 5% off for using your card and shipping is free. So for only $14.24, let me show you what I got this month….

img_8626

The September – Your New Basics Beauty Box came with

img_8630Acure Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner with argan extract and argan oil. The shampoo and conditioner formula is mild and good for sensitive skin. It’s also sulfate-free.

I’ve seen this product on shelf in many stores, but never purchased or used it. Now that I have these trial sizes I will definitely try it out, when I go back to wearing my natural curls for winter.

img_8633

Simple Micellar Water with no harsh chemical and artificial perfume or dyes. I am very big on make up wipes to take off my makeup, just because it’s quick and simple. Lately I have been using micellar water or gel to clean my face before applying make-up. You know just to make sure my face is really clean before I spread make-up all over it. I currently have the Garnier Micellar Water, but I’ve tried this product and love them both. This trial size bottle is great for travel, so I don’t have to carry around the big bottle in my suitcase or overnight bag. The box also included 2 dual-sided up & up Premium Cotton Rounds.

I thought that was a clever idea. Typical me, after I opened the box and took my blog pictures- I used the micellar water and cotton rounds right away. I used wanted to see how it felt.

img_8636Covergirl Tease Mascara for full natural lashes. I have seen the commerical for this new Total Tease product but wasn’t inspired to go purchase it. Honestly, I hardly ever buy mascara because I never run out. I have so many beauty subscriptions and mascara is so popular that I also have one. I don’t have a favorite brand or type or anything like that. But since a FULL size bottle of the Total Tease was in the box, I will use it.

Side Note: Every month I get so many eye liners, brow pins and mascara that I would never be able to use them all. So maybe I pick a few that I haven’t opened and do a little giveaway. Stay Tuned!  <Okay Back to The Review>
img_8632

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb with vitamin C and E to help promote healthy skin.

Honestly, I’ve never come across this product before, but who doesn’t love a good moisturizer. I can’t stand the feeling of a dirty face. So I keep facial wipes in my purse to wipe my face throughout the day if I need to. You know after you cleanse your face it can feel dry so you need to hydrate it. This little jar is the perfect size. I carry it in my purse for a little refresh throughout the day.

img_8631Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion with almond oil.

If you’ve been following Passion Locked for a while, I featured this product in one of my favorites blogs a few posts back. But my thoughts have changed since. I no longer like this product. I don’t know if they change the formula or ingredients, but it doesn’t make my skin feel nice and soft or hydrated after showering – and I still have to put on lotion afterwards. I’ll be adding this product to my giveaway box.

img_8634

Sensodyne ProNamel Strong & Bright Toothpaste for sensitive teeth and cavity prevention.

I use Crest toothpaste, because growing up that’s what my parents bought for the house. So when I moved out on my own and started purchasing toothpaste for myself, I went with what I knew. But I’m open to trying new things.

Stay Tuned for Part 2 of this review for a look at other box I got.

If you think I should do a beauty box giveaway, comment and let me know.

Good Vibes ONLY- Ipsy Bag

img_8398Good Day Passionista!

First off, let me tell you how much I have been enjoying my August Ipsy makeup bag. I almost forget to write a blog and show y’all my goodies for this month.

This month I was graced with this lovely “Good Vibes Only” make up bag. It is sooooo cute. I don’t know what next month bag looks like yet- but it might be hard for me to separate from this little cutie.

Any who… on to the good stuff inside the bag

Y’all should know how much I enjoy sheet mask by now… LOL

img_8400

I finally got some mask sheets in my bag this month. These mask are from Leaders Insoultion. So far I have used the Pore Gone for Good- Pore Refining sheet mask. I really liked the product. I was easy to unfold and it fit my face just right. I have used some sheet mask recently that have been just too wet and ended up being messy- liquid running down my face and all. I have even come across some that were too small or to big for my face, which was annoying. But this one was just right.

img_8403

I am in love with this cute mini Make Up Forever excessive Lash mascara. I have honestly used this everyday since I got it. I think I like the size of it best of all. It fits in my makeup bag perfectly. This has been my first time using a mascara by Make Up Forever, and I like it. I haven’t cried lately- so I don’t know how it will hold up during one of my secret cry sessions (LOL) But it has been my best “pocketbook” friend so far.

img_8404img_8405

It seems like every month I get a eye pencil or liquid liner. That’s cool and all… but I have not mastered the eye lining technique. These days I don’t have hours to stand in the mirror and try over and over again. So I honestly have not used this product (and don’t plan on it). I don’t know why I keep getting eye pencils and liners every month. I think I need to go on the website and look at my preferences and change them. No worries tho- I will be sure to pass this along to someone who I know will use it.

img_8409

This is my second time getting a make-up brush and I’m not mad about it. The last brush I got was a contouring brush, I believe. Again, I don’t have time for all that. So I have been using it for my creamy foundation or concealer, before putting on powder foundation. This Crown Foundation brush feels really good and I will use it for my more detailed make up sessions when I’m highlighting and baking my face.

img_8410

My last item was this Willkommen eyeshadow. I like natural colors so I will be using this in the winter. I haven’t used it yet because I am still stuff on the City of Color Cosmetic shimmery shadow I got last month.  I used to be into eye palettes alot, but now I need more convenient make up. So these individual shadows are dope.

Detoxifying Mask

Hello Beauty!

Last night I did another facial from my Peel Off Mask Gone Wrong blog a few weeks ago

img_7564This mask was much better than the last one I tried. Instead of a peel off, this mask is a paper mask by Yes to. I have tried a paper mask before and I think they are a great innovation to cut down the mess that can come with mixing and applying a mask. Paper mask are also convenient when it comes to traveling. I wash my daily every night with a daily facial wash and rinse it with cold water and a rag every morning, but I like to do a mask once or twice a week.

img_7636The Yes To Tomatoes detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask is great for cleaning your pores. It is made with 96% natural ingredients with no parabens or silicones. I am really interested in this charcoal trend of beauty products. Charcoal is a natural detoxifier and impurity remover to deep clean skin.

img_7634

I decided to use this mask the other day because I fell asleep with my make-up on. I normally wash my face once I get home from work, but it was just one of those days. I woke up the next morning with make-up all over my face. I didn’t do a mask right then, or I would have been late for work. So once I got home I looked through my collection of paper mask and choose this one. The charcoal helps to detox the skin and clean pores from all the product on your face.

img_7637

I placed the paper on my face and started dinner. After about 20 minutes, I removed the paper mask and trashed it. My face was a little wet from the liquid on the mask so instead of washing it off, I let it air dry on my face and finished my dinner. Before bed, I used my NYX water facial mist to hydrate my face and rest well.

I purchased this at Wal-Mart for $2.50. They have a endcap display of 2 for $5 facial mask. I will be repurchasing this paper mask to use again.

Until Next Time,

Mommy and Me By Zii

Hey Passionistas!!!!!

I have something special to share with you all, some spa like goodies I recently feel in love with.

Side Note: I know I have been away for a while. I mean it’s been maybe a month since I last blogged. I have been very busy working on my passion. Hopefully I will have great things to share with you all in the near future.

Anyhow, back to the good stuff.

img_6730

Mommy and Me By Zii is a homemade craft shop. Zuri is a ol’ friend of mine from High School (small shouts out to Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, GA). She is a mommy and entrepreneur. In fact, she decided to go into business with her beautiful daughter for, “Mother and Daughter crafting together with a purpose.” Together the Mother and Daughter duo makes skin care goodies that are all natural and good for your skin.

Y’all know I love skin care products and love to play with different body products. Of course, I had to support this Mommy and Me business venture. So here is what I got:

img_6731

The Tea Tree & Charcoal Facial Soap bar is really thick, so it will last a long time. It lathers really good. I use it in the mornings after showering, before moisturizing my face.

img_6732

Eucalyptus Mint Ultra Epsom Bath Salt is very soothing in a warm bath with some lavender body oil and a glass of wine.

img_6733I absolutely love the Triple Thick Body Butter. It’s best on my rough skin areas after a shower, like my feet, knees and elbows. I use it mostly at night after my shower, then putting on lotion in the morning before getting dressed.

img_6735

The Cold-Press Soap smells so good. It also lathers really well and feels soft on your hands. I usually buy the liquid soaps from Bath and Body Works for my bathroom. But I wanted to try a homemade soap. It’s so good that my best friend decided it was hers and took it from me after I let her try it. You know how best friends are… they think everything that’s yours is theirs too.

img_6736

I’d never used a charcoal mask before t but I have been interested in trying one. So I also order the Charcoal & Coconut oil Face Mask, it felt so good on my skin. Because of the coconut oil it’s a little watery- which I liked. I rubbed a thin coat on my face before my shower and let the shower water hit my face to gently rinse it off. Amazing Feeling!

Tuesday Mornings Haul

Passionistas… It’s Friday, so I went shopping.

Tuesday Mornings is one of my favorite stores, and its been months since I shopped in one. So instead of sitting in traffic, I went to Tuesday Mornings. I honestly spent 2 hours walking up an down the aisle of this store, on Pinterest and just browsing.

Look at what I got …

img_6791

PLANTS for $3.99 ea. I have never been into flowers. Usually when I get flowers I let them dry, I dont even try to keep them alive. But for some reason, I want to try to grow these dinner flowers into beautiful display.

img_6792

A new make-up bag marked down from $7.99 to $3.19. Not a bad deal- and a girl can never have too many cosmetic bags.

img_6793

From $10.99 to $8.79 this storage box is exactly what I need. As a event planner and quilter, I have supplies all over my house. I try to keep everything in one area, but that can be hard. So I have found that these storage boxes come in handy for the closet and under the bed. I honestly wish they had more, I would have bought them all.

img_6794

Stickers from $0.99 to only $.0.59. Did I need these? No. Do I know what I will use them for? No. But for only a fwe cents, I know they will come in handy one day or another.

img_6798

Seasings are everything. And since I am challenging myself to cook more than I eat out, I’ve found myself on the seassoning aisle of every store selling them. ONly $2.99

img_6797

Now, if you follow Passion Locked frequently, you know I have a love for quilting. So the Memory Quilt Kit was like the first thing I put in my shopping cart. I can’t wait until I have some time to play with it. Only $5.39

img_6796

A girl can never have too many laundry bags. They are good for closets, bedroom, bathrooms, and travel. These two are super cute and for only $3.99 ea. I had to have them.

img_6795

I love stationary! If you every order a quilt or Kreative Passion item, just know that your order will come with a handwritten thank you card, soecial from me. So for $1.19, I could’t leave it on the shelf. Of course I wish they had more, cause I will buy them all.

I know this is like my third haul within two weeks, I guess you all can see I have been shopping. I hope you don’t mind but I love sharing them with you.

Until next time….

Hobby Lobby Clearance Haul

Happy Hump Day Passionistas!

Last Wednesday I went shopping on my lunch break and for less than $20.00 I think I found some great clearance deals at Hobby Lobby.

Look at what I got.

img_6787

From $6.99 to $2.99 for these mini document pockets.

img_6788

$2.99 for petite file folders. As an event planner I think these are going to be perfect to make booklets for my event planning assistant to have handy the day of a big event, like a wedding or reunion.

img_6789

From $10.99 to $2.37 for baby blocks. You all know quilting is my thing. So this is something different for me to try to perfect my skills at making baby quilts.

img_6790

$2.99 for an 8×8 photo Album. I’m thinking this will transition into a great scrapbooking gift. I can’t wait to find the right event to gift it to someone special.

Follow @passionlocked on instagram so see what I do with my clearance goodies from Hobby Lobby!

Cost Plus World Market Haul

Hi Passionista!

Not to long ago, I discivered this amazing store… Cost Plus World Market! This story has everything you can think of in it.

One of the stores in Atlanta. Ga is moving locations. So the entire store was up to 30% off. Of course I had to take a trip. I got a little bit of everything… check it all out.

img_6240

img_6227

I needed another water jar for my apartment. I have one of these already. I orginial purchased it to chill water in the fridge but slowly started using it for some of my cold brewed teas. So now I’ll have 2 in the house- one for water and another for my tea.

img_6228

I picked up a few grecories items as well. I found some meat rubs (seasonings) that I was interested in trying. I got a lemon pepper garlic and chiplote scrub. Hopefully this will inspire me to actually cook 😂 Gin-Gins are ginger candies – which are great for when you have a headache or cold. It’s good to always have some on hand. Because I don’t like being sick, so as soon as I feel myself feeling like a cold is coming I start my get well remedies. Lastly, these mini honey jars- I thought would be great for my lunch box and the office (for my morning tea).

img_6229

The next thing I grabbed were these cloth bags. I thought these were the cutest misc. bags. Honestly, I didnt even pick these up for myself. I saw them and immediately thought of my two friends who are teachers. Not that I have them home, I have  thought of many ways I could use them. So I don’t know if my friends will actually ever get them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

img_6230

I came across these LED string lights, they are becoming more and more popular. I think they are great for decor, especially centerpieces and backdrop displays. They are battery operated and the battery pack is small and easy to hide. I have one set already but for $4.99 ea. I was happy to add these to my collection.

img_6231

I instantly wanted to try this coffee and mint body scrub. I like to use body scrubs once a week in the shower after shaving. It just makes my skin feel so much more silky after a shave. I have never used this one before, I usually use lush products. But I want to try this one because of the coffee and mint combination.

img_6233
img_6236

img_6239

More stationary! I found the cutest cards and little notepads that I can use or give away as gifts. I even found a cute little picture frame to put on my desk at work.
