Lipstick of the Week: MAC matte lipstick

Hello Passionista!

This week has been awesome. On Sunday, I met up with friends to spend some chill time in the park. The weather was nice, sun was shinning, and we needed some girl chat.

I love a good park picnic set up. So on short notice I gathered my blanket, cards games, snacks and wine for our little park adventure. The weather was not too hot or too cold, allowing us to enjoy the park for about five hours out in the sun. (Well under a tree really)

Since this was a outside event and I sweat so easily, I made it a fresh face SUNDAY. But you know I can’t go without lipstick.

This week I have fallen in love with the MAC Matte Lipstick in the color whirl, all over again. I purchased this lipstick last fall and with the seasons changing and getting new lipsticks it has just been siting on my lipstick rack. But look at it on me. It is time I bring this whirl color out of retirement and start rocking it again.

Charcoal Infused Nail Polish

Hello Passionistas!

I must admit, I am a girlie girl and I love going to the nail salon to get my nails done, feet scrubbed, and face waxed. But I’ve learned all that can add it. I noticed every 2 two weeks I was spending $70 + multiples tips in the nail salon. FOR WHAT? I can tell I’m growing into a full adult, because I cannot validate spending that much money twice a week. I’ve learned to cut back on my services. Now I only go to the nail salon once a month for a pedicure and eyebrow wax. Let’s be honest, a girl can’t be out here letting her feet rough up. As for my nails, I like to keep them clean and simple. For special occasions I will paint them myself now.

This is the Charcoal infused nail polish by Nailmedic in the color Volcanic Ash. I love this as a fall color.

This was easy to apply and fast drying – even with 3 coats. It doesn’t have the harsh nail polish smell- which I can appreciate.

I received this samples in a previous ipsy bag (before I canceled my subscription). I will definitely be using this color throughout the fall and winter.

I can’t wait to try some new holiday nail art this season. I’ll be use to do a DIY nail art post .

Lipstick of the Week

Hello Passionista

It’s Friday!!! We’ve almost made it through this week. It has been a long one for me and I can’t wait to relax for the weekend.

Even though it’s been a rough week, I’m always determined not to look like what I feel like. Today I’m enjoying the GA sunshine with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in the color Spice.

Purchased from ULTA on sale for buy 1 get one week during National Lipstick Day. I love this color, so I have to have it. It will definitely be a favorite in my fall makeup essentials.

Moisturizing Body Rub|D.I.Y.

Hello Passionista…

I enjoy making body scrubs and facial… stuff for my skin in general. One thing I like to do at least every other week is a moisturizing body rub using Lipton Green Tea. I do a lot to take care of my face but the rest of my body needs the same tender love and care. Honestly, I love having soft smooth skin. Today, I’m going to show you what I do and how to make this moisturizing body scrub.

What you’ll Need:

5 Pure Green Tea bags

Aloe Vera Gel

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Pure Green Tea helps promote healthy skin and reduces inflammation.

Aloe Vera Gel is hands down the best thing for curing scars and blemishes on your skin. Not just you face, it can be used all over your body.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is great for just about everything. Its a natural moisturizer. It helps lock moisture in your skin.

To start… use 5 tea bags to make a pitcher of green tea to enjoy later.

Once your tea is finish brewing, cut open the tea bags scooping the tea leaves into a bowl.

Add a 1/2 cup of aloe vera gel and a 1/2 cup of coconut oil. Stir.

I like  to place the mix in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Then apply the cool moisturizing rub all over my body. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes (to as long as you would like). To remove, I get in the shower  and rinse everything off  and air dry my newly moisturized skin.

Try it… Share your thoughts…

Skincare Regimen

Hello Passionistas

Surprisingly, people have been asking me to share my skincare routines. Well…. I have been trying to put together a skincare day/night routine for a while now. It’s been hard and took some time because I don’t really have a routine. I don’t do the same things every night nor do I used the same products on a daily basis. I like to spice things up and mix it up a bit. So, my first thought  was to start a day/night routine. After a week of trying to keep up with a routine I was uninspired to blog about it. It wasn’t real. It wasn’t me. So I canned to whole blog idea. But then I realized I can create content of the things that I do and how it works for me.

Welcome to my first of many skincare regimens. My skin hasn’t been giving me any issues, so this is what I do to maintain healthy glowing skin on a weekly basis. I do not do this every night. The only thing I faithful do in the morning and night to my face is wash it with a face towel and cool water.

Don’t worry- I promise to share more regimens when my skin is irritated, breaking out, or having a tude that I need to adjust.

This skincare regimen is for my everyday normal (clear, non-irratiating ) skin. I will do this at least once a week to 4 times a week, at max.

Cleanings Balm (or wipe)…

Something to clean and wipe away all the grits and grime in the surface of my face from make up and day to day activities (like touching my cheeks every time I think I lost or left my phone).

Face Scrubs …

Gentle exfoilation helps keeps pores unclogged and pimples away.

Hydrate …

Bring a glow to the skin and boost it with plenty of hydration.

So Ladies… here is my regimen in action

Yes To Coconut- Ultra hydrating coconut oil cleansing balm

Formula 10.0.6 One Smooth Operator pore clearing face scrub  (Zinc + Oat + Pumice)

Emilia Hydro boosting gel

Please share your skincare regimens with me and leave me feedback in the comment box. If you were looking for my lipstick of the week (that I’ve recently been posting on Wednesday’s) come back on Friday.

Yes To Shampoo &; Conditioner | Use & Review

Hello Passionista!!!

So, I’m not the type to use the same shampoo and conditioner every time I wash my hair. I like to try different products and brands. So I want to share my experience with Yes To shampoo and conditioner detoxifying & deep cleaning / ultra moisturizing charcoal.

Disclaimer: My thoughts and opinions are strictly my own based from my usage experience. I have only used these products one time.

Where to buy: Target ($7.99 each)

Yes To charcoal detoxifying & deep cleaning shampoo

Yes To charcoal detoxifying & ultra- moisturizing conditioner

Pros:

  • This is really a deep cleaning shampoo, it’s great for clean hair with product build up
  • The formula is creamy. For some reason I thought the formula would be thicker than the average shampoo but it’s not.

Cons:

  • It really strips your hair of everything. A hair mask / treatment is needed after use.
  • The conditioner is hard to wash out of thick hair. The color helps determine if it’s all washed out or not

Final Thoughts: this is not a product I would use often cause I wash my hair on a weekly basis. But I feel this is a perfect product duo for when I have lots of product build up from gels and creams in my hair. I plan on keeping these products close by for those special occasions.

Before wash:

After Shampoo and Conditioner (set in hair for 1hour +):

After washing the conditioner out, I did restore my curls with coconut oil.

Have you tried this shampoo and conditioner ? If so, tell me what you thought of it. What other Yes To products should I try ?

Smashbox Always on Liquid Lipstick

Hello Passionista!

I love my nudes and flesh tone lipsticks, but this week I decided to do something different. I’ve been rocking this Smashbox always on liquid lipstick in the color Miss Conduct. This is actually a sample I received in a Ipsy bag months ago.

I like red lipstick. It makes me feel pretty and fierce on the inside and outside. But I normally only wear it for special occasions not a everyday thing. I wanted to do something different so I’ve been pairing my cheetah print flats (shoes) and red lip stick for this week office fashions. The color is not to bold. It’s a darker red which I like.

I’m a fan of the Smashbox brand and the color is growing on me. I believe I would purchase this color lipstick by Smashbox once I finish this sample tube. It’ll be a good color option to add to my holiday collection of lipsticks.

Normally, I like to line my lips with a lip pencil before using a lipstick. But I only have brown tone lip pencils and I don’t think it looked good with red. So what color liner should I use? Red? What’s a cheap brand to try that has a good red lip pencil?

Bobby Brown Rich Color Gloss

Hello Passionistas!!!

This week’s lipstick of the week is actually a lip gloss by Bobby Brown Cosmetics -Rich Color Gloss in the color, Pink Cocoa 12. I’ve been using this product all year.

This gloss formula is thick but not sticky. It actually last a long time if you’re not eating or drinking. Since it’s a gloss of course it’s going to transfer over to a cup or napkin when eating and drinking. But the formula is rich enough to hold its form and color when on your lips. It doesn’t smudge nor harden. The color Pink Cocoa just tickles my fancy soooo much. It’s cute and neutral to match with just about any make up look. An added benefit to the gloss is that the color is so close to my skin tone. Y’all know how much I love nude colors.

You don’t really need a liner for this gloss but, Of course, I use my Mac lip pencil in the color Plum to line my lips.

What other glosses should I try? Comment below.

Deep Down Detox Mud Mask

Hello Passionistas

I am in love with the Formula 10.0.6 brand these days. There marketing and packaging really draws in the attention of beauty bloggers like myself.

Today’s spotlight product is the deep down detox ultra-cleansing mud mask- orange + bergamot, purchased for $6.99 from ULTA. I’ve used this product a few times now. The scent is very light but enjoyable. I love how thick the formula is. The mask really does dry/harden on your face which lets me know it’s working.

Skin brightening is not my purpose for using this product so I have not been tracking that. My interest is the ultra cleansing power of the formula. I feel like my face takes on so much interaction from day to day. From applying makeup to touching my face throughout the day, my face endures a lot. I really need a deep cleansing one a weekly basis to prevent dirt bumps and breakouts. I love beauty care formulas that are non-greasy and this product is definitely non greasy. The product really clears the pores and makes skin feel soft. Even after washing product away skin still feels clean and non greasy.

How I use this product:

  • Start by wiping face clean with make up remover wipe or facial cleansing wipe
  • Apply thin layer of product to face
  • Let it dry/ harden for 15-20 minutes
  • Use a wet wash cloth to wipe mask off- rub in circular motion
  • Hydrate face with daily facial oil

Finished Look:

My skin feels soft and clean!!!!

I rate this product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
