I hope you are having an amazing day and November is treating you well. I have been humble bliss with this #selfcarenovember challenge. It has required me to change up my day to day routines a little bit, but a little change ain’t never hurt nobody. Here’s a recap of Day 6-10… Don’t forget to share with me how this challenge has been going for you.
Day 6: Make a list of goals
2018 is not over yet, there is still time to accomplish all your goals and make new ones. If I’m being honest I did get side tracked from a few of my goals this year. Life happens! But I have taken time to evaluate the “why” behind each of the goals I did not reach. I’m not giving up on them. I just made a few realistic alterations. I even set a few new goals that I know I can accomplish by the end of the years. The biggest one is BLOGMAS!!!!!!
My goals is to create amazing content for Blogmas 2018! Last year I was not prepared for blogmas and it went from being fun blogging to a job that I didn’t want to get out of bed to do. Blooms can be stressful… one blog everyday for a whole month. Y’all don’t understand how much I struggle to create content for 3 blogs a week. So this will be a challenge for me. But I know I can do it … just cheer me on. I’m going to need your inspiration.
Day 7: Go to bed by 9pm
I’m a fall asleep on the sofa watching Youtube or Netflix kindof girl. Just about every night weekdays and weekends, I wake up somewhere between 2am-4am on the sofa with all the lights still on. I just can’t get settled into a bed time. A lot of nights I fall asleep with my computer still in my lap. This is something I really need to do better with… not just for a day. But, this past week I had to travel for business so that really tired me out. On Wednesday, I was able to get in bed by 9pm and actually fall asleep without scrolling through social media. I was honestly, just beat that day. I started my day at 5am, had to make a 5 hour drive, work a full day, accompany my co-workers to dinner, then check into my hotel. Once I hit my room, I dived into that bed and was sound asleep.
Day 8: Try something new
Trying something new can be difficult. Well not really, but on this day it seemed really difficult. I’m not big on breakfast but I know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So I decided to try something new and have breakfast. Honestly, it threw my whole day off. I had breakfast around 8:30am so by lunch (12 noon) I wasn’t hungry. I didn’t have lunch until almost 4pm. When I got home from work I didn’t start on dinner because I felt like I’d just ate. I sat around until 11pm before starting to cook. At almost midnight I had did and then a mountain of dishes to clean. It just thrower by whole day off.
Day 9: Cook a meal for yourself
I cook almost everyday, well Sunday-Thursday, for this challenge I tried a new recipe I found on Pinterest… Cod with Tomato and Herb Butter. For my sides, I kept it basic with whole gain rice and steamed squash.
Day 10: Read A Book
I am currently reading Don’t settle for Safe by Sarah Jakes Roberts (and when I say reading, I mean listening by Audible). I started this book maybe 2 weeks ago and I am now on Chapter 7. It is really enlighten. I listen to the Women Evolved Podcast by Sarah Jakes Roberts and I enjoy it… every morning on my way to work. The mention of this book has came up before during certain topics so I really felt like I should experience this book.
Continue taking the challenge with me… It’s not too late to start!!!!
